Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • professional appearance
  • familiarity with reservation software
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical stamina to stand and move for extended periods
  • TIPS certification

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or restaurant hosting preferred
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment

  • familiarity with reservation systems and basic computer skills
  • flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the restaurant
  • TIPS alcohol-service certification

Job Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
  • manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using the hotel's reservation system
  • escort guests to their tables and provide menus
  • communicate estimated wait times and accommodate special seating requests when possible
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
  • answer phone calls and assist with inquiries regarding hours, menus, and reservations
  • coordinate with servers and managers to ensure timely seating and guest satisfaction
  • monitor dining room flow and adjust seating plans as needed
  • assist with guest recovery and resolve minor concerns with empathy and professionalism
  • follow all hotel policies and procedures to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
  • regular and reliable attendance in conformance with company standards
  • perform other duties as assigned
