Job Requirements

  • At least six months of experience in a full-service restaurant
  • verbal and written English language skills
  • ability to read, speak and understand English
  • excellent communication skills
  • excellent organizational skills
  • excellent guest service skills
  • ability to stand for long periods up to eight hours
  • ability to occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds

Job Duties

  • Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival
  • open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible
  • record guest names and number of people in party when immediate seating is limited
  • call out the name and number of the party when tables become available
  • provide guests with estimated waiting time
  • accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
  • seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
  • offer guests a menu and inform them of their server's name upon seating
  • inspect the table for proper presentation and completeness
  • keep accurate guest count to ensure proper and efficient seating rotation
  • relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed
  • thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
