Job Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently or constantly
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns effectively
  • Friendly and courteous manner in all interactions
  • Regular attendance according to scheduling needs
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance including proper uniform and nametag
  • Comply with hotel standards and regulations
  • Ability to identify problems and assist in solutions
  • Initiative in anticipating guest or operational needs
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in a hotel or related hospitality field is beneficial
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with guests and employees
  • Knowledge of state liquor laws
  • Strong listening skills to understand and clarify guest concerns
  • Friendly, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Basic math skills for cashier reports and handling payments

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner
  • Be attentive of guests' needs and assist in providing a pleasant dining experience
  • Assist cashier in collection of money or credit cards from guests and servers as needed
  • Know how to prepare cashier report at the end of the shift
  • Pay out servers' and service attendants' tips if appropriate
  • Know how to properly take reservations for outlets
  • Ensure quality control of menus with regard to cleanliness and appearance
