Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Cash handling experience preferred
  • Ability to stand, bend, and twist for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and policy documents
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to perform multiple tasks as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Experience handling cash transactions preferred
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret restaurant seating charts
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing personality
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and seat them at appropriate tables following HMSHost customer service standards
  • Record customer reservations or seating times accurately
  • Maintain and update restaurant seating charts
  • Prepare and maintain dining room areas before service
  • Assist in maintaining stock of silverware and other dining supplies
  • Provide menu and beverage information to guests
  • Oversee delivery and servicing of food and beverages
  • Liaise between kitchen and floor staff to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Perform cashier and bus person duties as required
  • Follow cash handling policies and maintain security of cash
  • Refill water and coffee and remove service items and condiments
  • Roll silverware, expedite food orders, wash dishes, prepare food for To-go areas, and clean table condiments during downtime
