Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service experience is an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly and welcoming demeanor
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
- Knowledge of food service industry practices is a plus
Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes all customers immediately upon arrival and verifies number in their party
- Determines special needs such as high chairs or special menus
- Seats customers at tables or booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant
- Suggests new menu items from limited time offerings
- Collects payment from customers in accordance with cash handling procedures
- Handles customer complaints and suggestions appropriately
- Assists with beverage services and refills
- Cleans, completes side work, and organizes supplies as needed
- Keeps hostess area stocked and clean
- Handles incoming telephone calls and takes to-go orders
- Maintains proper supply of clean menus
- Assists service personnel in clearing and setting tables
- Resolves complaints and notifies manager of any complaints received
- Willingly assists other team members without being asked
- Provides total guest satisfaction
