Job Requirements

16 plus years old
Friendly and engaging demeanor
Prior work experience preferred
Reading, writing, and verbal communication skills required
Bi-lingual experience a plus

Job Duties

Greets and seats all guests in a friendly manner
Assists in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant
Ensures seating service is rotated among server area assignments whenever possible
Opens doors for arriving and departing guests
Remains visible in the front of house and forward facing the main entrance
Occasionally delivers food and drinks to guests when extra assistance is needed
Interacts verbally with all guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
Completes assigned opening and closing side work as required
Participates in the clearing and resetting of the dining room tables using Applebee's team delivery system
Observes guests, responds to requests, and anticipates guests' needs
Maintains a clean and organized work environment
Explains and demonstrates usage of tabletop electronic devices to guests
Drives sales with suggestive selling
Accommodates any special needs of guests such as booster chairs, high chairs, and wheelchairs
Manages the waitlist when the restaurant is busy
May occasionally be scheduled to serve guests in Carside To-Go or Server Assistant roles
Fills out feature sheets as assigned
Assists in general Front of House maintenance functions including maintaining restrooms, light cleaning such as dusting light fixtures, furniture, woodwork, artifacts, washing and/or wiping windows, sani-bucket rotation, setting up the expo line, emptying trash, rolling silverware, and maintaining restaurant curb appeal
