Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain high level of mobility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work under pressure during peak hours
  • Familiarity with using cash registers and phone systems
  • Commitment to providing friendly and professional customer service

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominations
  • Simple math skills required
  • Ability to communicate well with guests
  • Must have sufficient mobility to move and or operate in the work area
  • Must meet any state county or municipal regulations pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
  • Must immediately inform management of any safety hazards equipment problems or complaints from guests or other employees
  • Must maintain a professional image at all times
  • Must complete all video training anti discrimination and anti harassment training and comply with Dennys nondiscrimination policies

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome customers immediately upon arrival verifying the number in their party and determining any special needs
  • Collect payment from customers in accordance with established cash handling procedures and handle customer complaints and suggestions appropriately
  • Seat customers at tables or booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant
  • Handle incoming phone calls promptly
  • Maintain a proper supply of menus and ensure they are clean and in good repair
  • Provide customers with initial beverage orders and refill their beverages when possible
  • Assist service personnel in cleaning and setting tables as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized waiting area and register area
  • Must be courteous friendly and present a professional image at all times
  • Embody and promote company values
