Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain high level of mobility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work under pressure during peak hours
- Familiarity with using cash registers and phone systems
- Commitment to providing friendly and professional customer service
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominations
- Simple math skills required
- Ability to communicate well with guests
- Must have sufficient mobility to move and or operate in the work area
- Must meet any state county or municipal regulations pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
- Must immediately inform management of any safety hazards equipment problems or complaints from guests or other employees
- Must maintain a professional image at all times
- Must complete all video training anti discrimination and anti harassment training and comply with Dennys nondiscrimination policies
Job Duties
- Greet and welcome customers immediately upon arrival verifying the number in their party and determining any special needs
- Collect payment from customers in accordance with established cash handling procedures and handle customer complaints and suggestions appropriately
- Seat customers at tables or booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant
- Handle incoming phone calls promptly
- Maintain a proper supply of menus and ensure they are clean and in good repair
- Provide customers with initial beverage orders and refill their beverages when possible
- Assist service personnel in cleaning and setting tables as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized waiting area and register area
- Must be courteous friendly and present a professional image at all times
- Embody and promote company values
