Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age unless otherwise dictated by state law
  • Ability to remain standing and walking for extended periods
  • Capable of reaching, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 20 lbs for short distances
  • Ability to work with varying noise levels
  • Effective communication skills for timely information exchange with managers, team members, and guests
  • Commitment to integrity and providing excellent guest experiences
  • Willingness to complete all assigned tasks
  • Adherence to Miller's Ale House policies including time recording requirements
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the shift

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in operating restaurant seating software or willingness to learn
  • Positive attitude with a focus on providing exceptional guest service
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic reading and handwriting skills
  • Minimum age of 18 years unless state law dictates otherwise

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner while acknowledging all guests within five feet
  • Seat guests based on their preferences when possible
  • Rotate seating with servers to ensure even workloads and prompt service
  • Provide departing guests with a warm thank you and invitation to return
  • Support service team members by bussing dishes, sanitizing, and resetting tables as needed
  • Manage guest placement to enhance experience and ensure safety
  • Provide accurate wait times and suggest waiting options like seating at the bar
  • Answer incoming restaurant calls professionally and courteously
  • Maintain a neat and organized hostess station and entrance area
  • Complete host opening and closing sidework tasks
  • Ensure restrooms are clean, tidy, and stocked
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Notify management immediately of any guest or team-related issues
  • Follow safety and sanitation protocols consistently
  • Support front-of-house functions recognizing their impact on guest experience
  • Exhibit friendly and attentive behavior towards guests
  • Set up team members for success during shift changes
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking
