Job Duties

  • Greets and welcomes customers immediately upon arrival and verifies party size
  • determines special needs such as high chairs or special menus
  • collects payment from customers in accordance with cash handling procedures
  • inquires about food and service satisfaction and handles complaints or suggestions appropriately
  • seats customers at appropriate tables or booths and introduces daily specials
  • keeps hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
  • handles incoming telephone calls and takes to-go orders
  • maintains a proper supply of clean menus
  • periodically suggests initial beverages and provides beverage orders and refills
  • assists service personnel in cleaning and setting tables
  • resolves complaints promptly and notifies manager of any issues
  • assists other service personnel as needed
