Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Knowledge of reservation systems and point-of-sale equipment an advantage
  • Customer service oriented with a guest-first mindset
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in difficult situations
  • Team player with positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Report to work as scheduled in correct uniform
  • Obtain staffing and station assignments from Manager-on-Duty
  • Complete opening and side work duties promptly
  • Assist in planning reservations and table assignments
  • Answer telephone and take reservations courteously
  • Greet arriving guests and direct them to waiting areas
  • Escort guests to assigned tables
  • Control flow of business using rotation seating
  • Quote waiting times accurately and maintain wait list
  • Inform Manager-on-Duty of extended wait times
  • Maintain cleanliness of host stand and lobby
  • Enforce social distancing in waiting areas
  • Communicate guest concerns to management
  • Acknowledge departing guests and invite return
  • Take take-out and delivery orders via phone
  • Record and ring food and beverage orders
  • Check accuracy of take-out orders
  • Coordinate payment with bartender
  • Address take-out guest complaints
  • Complete closing duties on time
  • Follow all safety, health, and sanitation guidelines
  • Support other front-of-house positions
  • Perform duties per employee training standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
