Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Knowledge of reservation systems and point-of-sale equipment an advantage
- Customer service oriented with a guest-first mindset
- Ability to maintain professionalism in difficult situations
- Team player with positive attitude
Job Duties
- Report to work as scheduled in correct uniform
- Obtain staffing and station assignments from Manager-on-Duty
- Complete opening and side work duties promptly
- Assist in planning reservations and table assignments
- Answer telephone and take reservations courteously
- Greet arriving guests and direct them to waiting areas
- Escort guests to assigned tables
- Control flow of business using rotation seating
- Quote waiting times accurately and maintain wait list
- Inform Manager-on-Duty of extended wait times
- Maintain cleanliness of host stand and lobby
- Enforce social distancing in waiting areas
- Communicate guest concerns to management
- Acknowledge departing guests and invite return
- Take take-out and delivery orders via phone
- Record and ring food and beverage orders
- Check accuracy of take-out orders
- Coordinate payment with bartender
- Address take-out guest complaints
- Complete closing duties on time
- Follow all safety, health, and sanitation guidelines
- Support other front-of-house positions
- Perform duties per employee training standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
