Job Requirements

  • Previous restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or food service industry experience preferred
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on guest service
  • must be able to read, write, and determine wait time based on company's procedures
  • team player with a positive, patient attitude
  • strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with a strong work ethic
  • knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand for extended periods, continuously bend, reach and twist
  • must be at least 18 years old

Job Duties

  • Warmly greet and seat guests
  • present menus and create a positive first impression
  • use a floor plan and follow a seating rotation to assign tables promoting guest satisfaction
  • provide accurately quoted wait times to support smooth guest flow
  • observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables
  • take guest information for waiting list and quote wait time to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
  • clean, organize, and stock menus at host area
  • answer phone in a welcoming tone and questions concerning the menu and restaurant
  • interact with guests coming in and as they leave, ensuring a positive dining experience
  • open the door for all guests
  • play an important role in front of house operations, supporting teamwork to enhance the overall guest experience
  • take and fill to go orders, if applicable
  • maintain restroom cleanliness throughout shift
  • demonstrate ownership of sidework and closing tasks
