Job Requirements
- Arrives to work on time as scheduled and ready to work
- Follows Miller's Ale House policies including time recording requirements
- Able to perform physical tasks such as standing and walking for extended periods, reaching, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 20 lbs for short distances
- Maintains clean and sanitized work areas
- Communicates timely with managers, team members, and guests
- Supports safety and sanitation protocol adherence
- Provides exceptional guest service
- Rotates seating to ensure even workloads
- Manages guest placement and safety
- Handles incoming calls professionally
- Completes opening and closing sidework tasks
- Ensures restrooms are stocked and clean
- Works well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age unless otherwise dictated by state law
- Basic reading and handwriting skills
- Ability to operate the restaurant's front door seating software
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work alone as well as with a team
- Friendly disposition and attentiveness to guests
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to complete all tasks to ensure exceptional guest experiences
Job Duties
- Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner while acknowledging all guests within five feet
- Seat guests based on their seating preferences when possible
- Rotate seating with different servers to ensure even workloads and prompt service
- Provide departing guests with a warm salutation and invite them to return
- Support service team members in bussing dishes, sanitizing, and resetting tables as needed
- Manage the placement of guests within the entrance area to enhance guest experience and ensure safety
- Provide accurate wait times to guests and recommend waiting options such as seating at the bar
- Answer incoming restaurant calls in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain a neat and organized workstation and entrance area
- Complete tasks included on the host opening and closing sidework charts
- Ensure restrooms are clean, tidy, and stocked
- Communicate with team members and management to keep everyone informed
- Notify management immediately of any potential issues with guests, team members, or long wait times
- Wash hands every 20 minutes and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Support other front-of-house functions as needed
- Exhibit a friendly disposition and attentiveness to guests
- Positively communicate with other team members and management
- Provide exceptional service throughout the shift
- Multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Set up team members for success at shift change
