Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality desired
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a friendly and welcoming demeanor under busy conditions
  • Basic cash handling skills
  • Ability to multitask and work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations is a plus

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome all customers immediately upon arrival and verify number in their party
  • Determine special needs such as high chairs or special menus
  • Collect payment from customers in accordance with established cash handling procedures
  • Inquire about food and service satisfaction and handle complaints or suggestions appropriately
  • Seat customers at appropriate tables or booths and introduce feature of the day
  • Keep hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
  • Handle incoming telephone calls and take to-go orders as appropriate
  • Maintain proper supply of clean menus
  • Provide beverage suggestions and refills as needed
  • Assist service personnel in clearing and setting tables
  • Resolve complaints and notify manager as necessary
  • Assist other service personnel as needed
