Job Duties
- Greets and seats all guests in a friendly manner
- assists in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant
- ensures seating service is rotated among server area assignments whenever possible
- opens doors for arriving and departing guests
- remains visible in the front of house and faces the dining area
- occasionally delivers food and drinks to guests when extra assistance is needed
- interacts verbally with all guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
- completes assigned opening and closing side work as scheduled
- participates in the clearing and resetting of the dining room tables using Applebee's team delivery method
- observes guests, responds to requests, and anticipates guests' needs
- maintains a clean and organized work area
- explains and demonstrates usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices to guests
- drives sales with suggestive selling
- accommodates any special needs of guests such as booster chairs, high chairs, or wheelchair access
- manages the waitlist when the restaurant is busy
- may occasionally be scheduled to serve guests in a Carside To-Go or Server Assistant capacity
- fills out feature sheets accurately
- assists in general Front of House maintenance functions including maintaining restrooms, light cleaning such as dusting light fixtures, furniture, woodwork, artifacts, washing and/or wiping windows, sani-bucket rotation, setting up the expo line, emptying trash, rolling silverware, and maintaining restaurant curb appeal.
