Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum 6 months food service or customer service experience required
  • preferred 1 year healthcare food service experience
  • obtain Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days
  • ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English
  • possess cooperative, discreet, and courteous demeanor with customers
  • demonstrate good communication and organizational skills
  • exhibit positive customer service skills
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • ability to maintain focus and quality service in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months experience in food service or applicable customer service experience required
  • 1 year of food service experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of employment

Job Duties

  • Serve patient meals
  • assist with set up and prepare snacks accurately and timely
  • return to patient rooms to pick up dirty trays and confirm satisfaction
  • comply with hand hygiene, patient identification, and PPE requirements
  • use basic diet therapy training to assist patients with menu selections
  • maintain food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards
  • maintain clean and orderly work area
  • monitor and deliver floor stock to designated units according to FIFO
  • check and log refrigerator/freezer temperatures
  • demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • resolve complaints, concerns, and questions
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
