Job Duties
- Greets and seats all guests in a friendly manner
- Assists in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant
- Ensures seating service is rotated among server area assignments whenever possible
- Opens doors for arriving and departing guests
- Remains visible in the front of house and forward facing the main entrance
- Occasionally delivers food and drinks to guests when extra assistance is needed
- Interacts verbally with all guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
- Completes assigned opening and closing side work as required
- Participates in the clearing and resetting of the dining room tables using Applebee's team delivery system
- Observes guests, responds to requests, and anticipates guests' needs
- Maintains a clean and organized work station
- Explains and demonstrates usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices to guests
- Drives sales with suggestive selling techniques
- Accommodates special needs such as booster chairs and high chairs
- Manages the waitlist when the restaurant is busy
- May occasionally serve guests in Carside To-Go or Server roles
- Fills out feature sheets and assists with front of house maintenance including restrooms cleaning, dusting furniture and fixtures, wiping windows, sani-bucket rotation, expo line setup, emptying trash, rolling silverware, and maintaining restaurant curb appeal
