Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, handle and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand and move continuously for up to four hours or longer
  • Good sense of balance and ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach and squat frequently
  • Effective communication and attentive listening skills
  • Ability to operate telephone and point-of-sale equipment bilaterally
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Willingness to follow uniform and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in hospitality or customer service roles desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale systems and reservation software advantageous
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and appearance
  • Basic understanding of safety and hygiene protocols

Job Duties

  • Report to work as indicated and in correct uniform
  • Obtain staffing and station assignments from Manager on Duty
  • Complete opening and sidework duties timely
  • Assist Manager on Duty in planning reservations and assigning tables
  • Answer telephone promptly and courteously
  • Recognize and greet arriving members and manage waiting lists
  • Escort members to tables and present menus
  • Control flow of business through rotation seating and reservation plans
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of hostess stand and lobby
  • Assist fellow employees to enhance dining experience
  • Communicate member concerns to Manager on Duty
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions
  • Acknowledge departing members and invite return
  • Complete all closing duties
  • Maintain knowledge of standards and procedures
