Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar host/hostess role preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Familiarity with digital reservation systems
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Flexible availability to work full-time or part-time shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a high-volume or upscale casual dining environment is preferred
  • Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional and calm demeanor under pressure
  • Proficiency with reservation software such as OpenTable or Resy
  • A true passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Job Duties

  • Deliver a genuine, warm Southern welcome to all guests upon arrival and a sincere thank you upon departure
  • Strategically manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using the digital reservation system to ensure a smooth, balanced service flow for the kitchen and service staff
  • Accurately manage seating for various environments, including standard tables, the patio, and the open-air bar area, paying close attention to guest preferences
  • Maintain constant, clear communication with managers and servers regarding table status, anticipated waits, and large party arrivals
  • Ensure the entrance, waiting area, and host stand are clean, organized, and reflect the restaurant's welcoming aesthetic
  • Complete all opening, running, and closing side work to meticulous standards, including setting up and breaking down stations
  • Actively support teammates in daily operations and service flow
