Job Duties
- Greets and seats all guests in a friendly manner
- assists in maintaining the overall guest flow of the dining area
- ensures seating service is rotated among server area assignments
- opens doors for arriving and departing guests
- remains visible in the front of house and forward facing the main entrance
- occasionally delivers food and drinks to guests when extra assistance is needed
- interacts verbally with all guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
- completes assigned opening and closing side work as required
- participates in the clearing and resetting of dining room tables using Applebee's team delivery system
- observes guests, responds to requests, and anticipates guests' needs
- maintains a clean and organized work area
- ability to explain and demonstrate usage of tabletop electronic devices to guests
- ability to drive sales with suggestive selling
- accommodates any special needs of guests such as booster chairs and high chairs
- manages the waitlist when the restaurant is busy
- may occasionally serve guests in a Carside To-Go or Server Assistant role
- fills out feature sheets
- assists in general front of house maintenance including maintaining restrooms, light cleaning such as dusting and wiping windows, sani-bucket rotation, setting up the expo line, emptying trash, rolling silverware, and maintaining restaurant curb appeal
