Job Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the dining room effectively
- Ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 15lbs and bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs
- Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role is preferred but not required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and a welcoming demeanor
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job Duties
- Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming attitude upon their arrival, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable
- Maintain an organized reservation system, including taking reservations over the phone or through online platforms, and ensuring accurate record-keeping
- Manage the seating process efficiently, balancing guest preferences, table availability, and server assignments
- Ensure an even distribution of guests among sections
- Effectively manage waitlists during peak dining hours, providing estimated wait times and offering guests the option to wait at the bar or in a designated waiting area
- Provide guests with information about the restaurant’s offerings, including menus, daily specials, and any promotions or events
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff regarding table availability, special requests, and any guest concerns or allergies
- Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess stand and waiting area
- Ensure menus and promotional materials are clean and in good condition
- Bid guests a warm farewell and express appreciation for their visit as they depart
- Collect feedback and address any immediate concerns
