Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Capability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and seat them at appropriate tables following HMSHost customer service standards
  • Record customer reservations or seating times accurately
  • Maintain and update restaurant seating charts
  • Set up and maintain dining room areas before and during service
  • Assist with stocking roll up silverware for shifts
  • Advise guests on menu and beverage options using in-depth knowledge
  • Oversee delivery and servicing of food and beverages
  • Liaise between kitchen and floor staff to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Perform cashier and bus person duties as needed
  • Follow cash handling policies and maintain cash security
  • Refill water and coffee, remove service items and condiments
  • Perform additional tasks during downtime such as rolling silverware, expediting food orders, washing dishes, preparing to-go food areas, and cleaning table condiments
