Job Duties
- Greet and seat all guests in a friendly manner
- assist in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant
- ensure seating service is rotated among server area assignments
- open doors for arriving and departing guests
- remain visible in the front of house and face the main entrance
- occasionally deliver food and drinks to guests when extra assistance is needed
- interact verbally with all guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
- complete assigned opening and closing side work
- participate in the clearing and resetting of dining room tables using Applebee's team delivery system
- observe guests and respond to requests anticipating guests' needs
- maintain a clean and organized work area
- explain and demonstrate usage of tabletop electronic devices to guests
- drive sales with suggestive selling
- accommodate any special needs of guests such as booster or high chairs
- manage the waitlist when the restaurant is full
- occasionally serve guests in a Carside To-Go or Server role
- fill out feature sheets
- assist in general front of house maintenance functions including maintaining restrooms, light cleaning such as dusting fixtures and furniture, washing windows, sani-bucket rotation, setting up the expo line, emptying trash, rolling silverware, and maintaining restaurant curb appeal
