Job Duties
- Greet guests promptly and warmly as they enter the restaurant
- manage guest flow by accurately estimating wait times and managing the seating chart
- escort guests to their tables, provide menus, and introduce the server if needed
- handle reservations using the reservation system
- answer phone calls, take to-go orders if applicable, and assist with general inquiries
- communicate wait times and table status updates to guests clearly and politely
- assist in maintaining cleanliness and appearance of the host stand and entrance area
- coordinate with servers, bussers, and management to ensure smooth table turnover and guest satisfaction
- monitor and manage the overall flow of the dining room to optimize seating and service
- handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and refer to a manager when necessary
- follow all safety, sanitation, and service standards of the restaurant or hotel brand
