Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older due to serving alcoholic drinks
- move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit
- bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently
- lift, carry, and push up to 15 lbs. regularly, 20-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 40 lbs. occasionally
- able to stand for extended periods and climb stairs occasionally
- speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of guests and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly to be understood by same in English
- read and write in English
- physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties
Job Qualifications
- Partial high school education
- high school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred
- knowledge of or ability to learn to create specialty coffees and other drinks
- previous barista experience preferred
- strong sanitation habits and attention to detail
- strong guest service abilities
- actively look for ways to assist guests and co-workers
- ability to learn and use food service POS system including computerized cash register and credit card terminal
- ability to solve guest problems and refer to management as necessary
Job Duties
- Greet guests in a polite, positive manner
- answer guest questions and offer menu recommendations
- seat guests appropriately and efficiently at tables and offer beverages
- take food and beverage orders and ring up sales on register/POS system in accurate, efficient, and friendly manner
- complete all side-work including stocking service areas with coffee, food items, tableware, and linens
- report gratuities at the end of each shift as required by company policy and law
- assist in porter duties of adjacent lobby occasionally as needed
