Job Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older due to serving alcoholic drinks
  • move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit
  • bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently
  • lift, carry, and push up to 15 lbs regularly, 20-30 lbs frequently, and up to 40 lbs occasionally
  • able to stand for extended periods and climb stairs occasionally
  • speech recognition and clarity including the ability to understand the speech of guests and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly to be understood by same in English
  • read and write in English
  • physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties

Job Qualifications

  • Partial high school education
  • high school diploma/GED equivalent preferred
  • knowledge of or ability to learn to create specialty coffees and other drinks
  • previous barista experience preferred
  • strong sanitation habits and attention to detail
  • strong guest service abilities
  • actively look for ways to assist guests and co-workers
  • ability to learn and use food service POS system including computerized cash register and credit card terminal
  • ability to solve guest problems and refer to management as necessary

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a polite, positive manner
  • answer guest questions and offer menu recommendations
  • seat guests appropriately and efficiently at tables and offer beverages
  • take food and beverage orders and ring up sales on register/POS system in accurate, efficient, and friendly manner
  • complete all side-work including stocking service areas with coffee, food items, tableware, and linens
  • report gratuities at the end of each shift as required by company policy and law
  • assist in porter duties of adjacent lobby occasionally as needed
