Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and handling
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Suggesting new menu items from limited time offerings
  • Cleaning, completing side work, and organizing supplies as needed
  • Proactively assisting other team members without being asked
  • Providing total guest satisfaction
  • Greeting and welcoming all customers immediately upon arrival and verifying the number in their party
  • Seating customers at tables or booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant and introducing feature of the day
  • Keeping hostess area stocked and clean, e.g., to-go items and bakery products
  • Handling incoming telephone calls immediately and taking to-go orders as appropriate
  • Maintaining proper supply of clean menus
  • Periodically supplying customers with initial beverage suggestions and providing beverage order and refills
  • Resolving complaints as they become aware of them, notifying the manager of any complaints received
  • Collecting payment from customers immediately, in accordance with established cash handling procedures, inquiries about food/service satisfaction and handling customer complaints/suggestions appropriately
  • Busing and cleaning guest tables in the dining room
  • Delivering trays of dirty dishware to dish-room and stocking service area with clean dishware
  • Packaging To-Go orders ensuring 100 percent accuracy with food, beverages, and accompaniments
  • Completing the sign off process on all To-Go receipts
  • Expediting Dine-In orders ensuring 100 percent accuracy and proper positioning of food on the service trays
  • Preparing drinks for the waitstaff to help improve Speed of Service and table turns
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned
