Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year restaurant or guest service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to perform barista duties
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8 or more hours
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and push/pull approximately 200 lbs
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays based on business demands
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive guest information
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and situations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year restaurant or guest service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of hotel functions and guest profiles
  • Familiarity with local area attractions including restaurants, landmarks, and shopping centers
  • Knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and wine
  • Strong verbal and written business communication skills in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including listening, smiling, relating, asking questions, and teamwork
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain focused under pressure
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to learn new software and computer systems
  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred
  • Prior hotel experience preferred
  • Emotional intelligence training preferred
  • Alcohol awareness certification preferred
  • California Food Handlers Card preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat guests in the restaurant
  • Oversee dining room reservations
  • Manage efficient seating of guests professionally
  • Perform barista duties including making lattes, cappuccinos, and other coffee and tea drinks
  • Be attentive to guest needs ensuring they feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed
  • Recommend menu items and upsell based on knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and wine
  • Prepare food and drinks and handle cleaning duties
  • Collaborate with managers and associates to meet guest needs
  • Maintain high quality standards and contribute ideas to improve guest satisfaction
