Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience required
  • 6 months of host experience preferred
  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • possession of Washington Food Handler Card
  • possession of MAST Certification

Job Duties

  • Walk around your complete area and make sure it is ready for service
  • check computer for guest reservations for day or evening
  • have menus prepared ensuring they are accurate and free of spots or stains
  • welcome and greet guests making eye contact, smiling, speaking kindly
  • answer phones promptly and provide necessary information, make reservations if required
  • determine guest seating preferences and create wait list when needed
  • ensure equitable seating for scheduled service staff
  • check reservations and private parties for proper coordination
  • coordinate seating arrangements to follow server rotation
  • open and close checks in Micros as needed
  • make sure servers are aware of seated guests
  • assist in serving food and beverage attentively
  • anticipate guest needs and respond promptly
  • maintain positive guest relations
  • interact courteously and professionally
  • monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned areas
  • enforce no outside liquor/beverage policy professionally
  • assist with opening and closing duties
  • follow supervisor's instructions
  • be a team player
  • assist other departments as needed
  • assist in bussing tables ensuring host area is not neglected
  • ensure all stations are covered during breaks
  • complete other duties assigned by management
  • follow all operational procedures including clocking in/out, taking breaks, checking schedule and time-off requests
