Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No previous supervisory experience required
- Basic understanding of food service operations preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English is an asset
- Willingness to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds without assistance
- Commitment to adhere to company safety policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance
- Availability to work full time
- Ability to work non-remote on-site at The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No supervisory experience required
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality environments is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Basic safety awareness and willingness to obtain safety certifications
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Basic physical ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Knowledge of menu presentation and table settings is beneficial
Job Duties
- Receive guests and determine the number of group members
- Indicate seating to guests by offering a clean and available table, removing chairs, placing clean and updated menus in front of each guest
- Guide guests through dining rooms and provide assistance as needed
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, and cutlery and organize seating for groups with special needs
- Ensure proper cutlery and napkins are available for each guest
- Check menus to ensure they are updated, clean, complete, and wrinkle-free
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day with consistent cleaning procedures
- Monitor seating availability, service, safety, and guest wellbeing in dining areas
- Follow all safety and company policies, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions, and complete required safety training and certifications
- Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance
- Ensure confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
- Greet and acknowledge all guests per company standards
- Communicate clearly and professionally with others and answer telephones using proper protocol
- Foster positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns
- Ensure standards and quality expectations are met
- Stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods
- Move, lift, transport, push, drag, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds independently
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
