Job Description

The role of a Hostess at Terranea Resort is central to ensuring guests receive an exceptional dining experience from the moment they arrive. This position is full-time and offers a competitive starting wage of $18.63 per hour. As a Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for greeting, seating, and guiding them through their dining experience with warmth and professionalism. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Food Handler’s Card needed
  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to speak, comprehend, and read English
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Ability to implement and uphold service standards
  • Ability to interact with all associates and guests
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations

Job Duties

  • Provide an exceptional guest experience
  • Maintain the company image and vision statement
  • Participate in ongoing training and encourage personal development of all associates
  • Greet guests at the door and escort or direct them to a table
  • Set tables according to service standards
  • Introduce guests to their server as they sit down
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding guest counts and wait times
  • Smile and greet guests with a warm welcome
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverages
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and hostess stand
  • Make silverware roll-ups during shift
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Run food and bus tables when extra time is available
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs
  • Check restrooms and restaurant perimeter every 30 minutes for cleanliness
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate with peers, management, and front-of-house employees
  • Be responsible for cleanliness of immediate work area and general property
  • Follow grooming, dress, and uniform standards
  • Be courteous to guests and coworkers
  • Be familiar with hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to answer guest inquiries
