Job Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year experience in hospitality industry or customer service experience preferable
  • Ability to speak, read and write English clearly and proficiently
  • Basic computer skills such as data entry
  • Math skills including conversions of ounces, cc, and ml
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Flexible work hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • Adherence to safety and sanitation standards when entering patient rooms and kitchens

Job Qualifications

  • Six months to one year of experience in hospitality or customer service
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
  • Basic computer skills including data entry
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic math skills including unit conversions
  • Ability to provide high-quality patient service and maintain professionalism

Job Duties

  • Ensures physician's diet orders are met by processing diet orders and maintaining patient card files
  • Utilizes CBORD and Care Connection systems for meal selection and order processing
  • Communicates effectively with patients, family, nursing staff, and kitchen personnel to clarify and fulfill diet orders
  • Assists with training of other employees and participates in inservices and meetings
  • Distributes patient meals and nourishments, verifying diet and meal accuracy at point of service
  • Retrieves soiled meal trays and ensures proper storage of bulk nourishments
  • Maintains a professional image, adheres to department policies, and documents patient intakes and calorie counts as required
