Job Duties
- Greet guests in a warm, friendly, smiling manner
- Suggest new menu items from limited time offerings
- Receive payment and make correct change
- Assist with beverages like bold, signature or flavored coffees
- Clean, complete side work, and organize supplies as needed
- Assist other team members willingly without being asked
- Provide total guest satisfaction
- Greet and welcome all customers immediately upon arrival and verify number in their party
- Determine special needs such as high chairs or special menus
- Collect payment from customers according to established cash handling procedures
- Inquire about food and service satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints and suggestions appropriately
- Seat customers at tables and booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant
- Introduce feature of the day
- Keep hostess area stocked and clean, including to-go items and bakery products
- Handle incoming telephone calls immediately and take to-go orders
- Maintain proper supply of clean menus
- Supply customers with initial beverage suggestions and provide beverage order and refills
- Assist service personnel in clearing and setting tables
- Resolve complaints and notify the manager of any complaints received
- Assist other service personnel as needed
