Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Friendly and positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of restaurant operations

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome all customers immediately upon arrival and verify number in their party
  • Determine special needs such as high chairs or special menus
  • Collect payment from customers following established cash handling procedures
  • Inquire about food/service satisfaction and handle complaints or suggestions appropriately
  • Seat customers at tables or booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant
  • Introduce feature of the day to guests
  • Keep hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
  • Handle incoming telephone calls immediately and take to-go orders as appropriate
  • Maintain proper supply of clean menus
  • Provide initial beverage suggestions and offer beverage orders and refills
  • Assist service personnel in clearing and setting tables
  • Resolve complaints promptly and notify the manager of any complaints received
  • Assist other service personnel as needed
  • Suggest new menu items from limited time offerings
  • Receive payment and make correct change
  • Assist with beverages like bold, signature or flavored coffees
  • Clean, complete side work and organize supplies as needed
  • Willingly assist other team members without being asked
  • Provide total guest satisfaction
