Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 years or older
- ability to stand for extended periods
- basic math skills for cash handling
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
- ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior customer service or hospitality experience is a plus
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to handle cash and payments accurately
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- friendly and approachable demeanor
- basic knowledge of food and beverage menus
- teamwork-oriented attitude
Job Duties
- Greet and welcome all customers immediately upon arrival and verify number in their party
- determine special needs such as high chairs or special menus
- collect payment from customers in accordance with established cash handling procedures
- inquire about food and service satisfaction and handle customer complaints or suggestions appropriately
- seat customers at tables or booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant
- introduce feature of the day
- keep hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
- handle incoming telephone calls immediately and take to-go orders as appropriate
- maintain proper supply of clean menus
- supply customers with initial beverage suggestions and provide beverage orders and refills
- assist service personnel in clearing and setting tables
- resolve complaints and notify manager of any complaints received
- assist other service personnel as needed
