Job Duties
- Greet and welcome all customers immediately upon arrival and verify number in their party
- Determine special needs such as high chairs or special menus
- Collect payment from customers immediately in accordance with established cash handling procedures
- Inquire about food or service satisfaction and handle customer complaints or suggestions appropriately
- Seat customers at tables or booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant, and introduce feature of the day
- Keep hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
- Handle incoming telephone calls immediately and take to-go orders as appropriate
- Maintain proper supply of clean menus
- Periodically supply customers with initial beverage suggestions and provide beverage order and refills
- Assist service personnel in clearing and setting tables
- Resolve complaints as they arise and notify the manager of any complaints received
- Assist other service personnel as needed
- Suggest new menu items
- Receive payment and make correct change
- Assist with beverages like bold, signature, or flavored coffees
- Clean and complete side work
- Organize supplies
- Willingly assist other team members without being asked
- Provide total guest satisfaction
