Job Duties
- Greeting and welcoming guests in a warm, friendly, and smiling manner
- Suggesting new menu items from limited-time offerings
- Receiving payment and making correct change
- Assisting with beverages such as bold, signature, or flavored coffees
- Cleaning, completing side work, and organizing supplies as needed
- Assisting other team members willingly without being asked
- Providing total guest satisfaction
- Greeting and verifying number of guests upon arrival
- Determining special needs such as high chairs or special menus
- Collecting payment in accordance with cash handling procedures
- Handling customer complaints and suggestions appropriately
- Seating customers at appropriate tables or booths
- Introducing features of the day
- Keeping hostess area stocked and clean
- Handling incoming telephone calls and taking to-go orders
- Maintaining proper supply of clean menus
- Supplying customers with beverage suggestions and refills
- Assisting service personnel in clearing and setting tables
- Resolving complaints and notifying management
- Assisting other service personnel as needed
