Job Requirements
- Some high school training
- food service experience
- ability to read and write clearly and correctly
Job Qualifications
- High school degree or general education degree (GED) or enrollment in high school or GED program preferred
- post high school education or training preferred
- ability to work with computerized nutrition data software preferred
- one year of health care and customer service experience preferred
- experience in food service required
- ability to read and write clearly and correctly required
Job Duties
- Provide diet appropriate menu packets and communicate about the meal ordering process
- assist with placing patient meal orders
- deliver and collect meal trays
- conduct routine patient rounds
- provide nourishment and floor stocks to assigned units
- maintain clear and accurate communication with dietitians, nursing unit staff, and patient services staff
- ensure patients and family members understand meal service process
- professionally interact with patients, visitors, and staff to meet customer service standards
- use computer software and telephone systems to obtain and assist with meal orders, enter meal preferences, print reports and nourishment labels
- prepare and deliver nourishment, floor stocks, meal trays
- record temperatures of unit refrigerators
- assist with meal assembly, food preparation, and cleaning assignments as needed
