Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months experience in food service or applicable customer service required
  • Food Handlers Certificate (FHC) within 30 days of hire required
  • Ability to comply with hand hygiene and PPE protocols
  • Ability to work rotating part-time schedule including weekends
  • Good physical stamina to perform job duties
  • Ability to follow food safety standards according to HACCP

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months experience in a food service or applicable customer service role
  • Ability to follow food safety and hygiene protocols
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of diet therapy to assist patients
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment

Job Duties

  • Serve patient meals and assist with set up and snack preparation accurately and timely according to procedures
  • Return to patient rooms within a reasonable period to pick up dirty trays and confirm satisfaction
  • Comply with hand hygiene, patient identification, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Utilize basic diet therapy training to assist patients in selecting correct menu items
  • Maintain food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards
  • Keep work area clean and orderly ensuring health department and facility compliance
  • Monitor, prepare, and deliver floor stock to designated units following FIFO and check for expired or prohibited items
  • Check and log refrigerator and freezer temperatures on nursing units
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills at point of service and in resolving complaints or questions following AIDET principles
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
