Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months experience in food service or applicable customer service required
  • Food handlers certificate within 30 days of hire required
  • Ability to comply with hand hygiene and PPE requirements
  • Ability to work part-time with a rotating schedule
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain clean and sanitary work environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months experience in food service or applicable customer service experience
  • Food handlers certificate within 30 days of hire required
  • Knowledge of basic diet therapy
  • Ability to follow health and safety standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Job Duties

  • Serve patient meals and assist with set up and prepare snacks accurately and timely
  • Return to patient rooms to pick up dirty trays and confirm patient satisfaction
  • Comply with hand hygiene, patient identification, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Utilize basic diet therapy training to help patients select appropriate menu items
  • Maintain food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring compliance with health department and facility requirements
  • Monitor, prepare, and deliver floor stock to designated units following FIFO and check for expired or prohibited food items
  • Check and log refrigerator/freezer temperatures on nursing units
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills including complaint resolution following AIDET principles
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
