Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • previous host or hospitality experience in a high-volume restaurant or lounge preferred
  • ability to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion
  • ability to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Employee Handbook
  • anticipate and accommodate needs of the guest while providing professional and exceptional service
  • provide guests with basic food and beverage information including special offerings and display upselling skills
  • assign seating considering service standards, staffing levels, and kitchen capacity
  • set up the host stand, review the reservation book, and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the area throughout the shift
  • assist with incoming calls and answer questions from guests and confirm reservations
  • seat reservations promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party and hold chairs for guests when seating them
  • protect establishment, guests, and employees by adhering to Department of Health and company sanitation standards
  • actively take and process reservations for guests, special orders, and pre-payment information
  • perform side-work and other opening and closing procedures as directed by management
  • ensure all menus are organized and current, take weekly inventory of menu paper, menu backs, and desk stationery
  • report all breakage and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management
  • attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings
  • update knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities
  • portray a positive and professional attitude
