The Boathouse is a charming, lakeside restaurant located at lake level in The Edgewater's historic Langdon Building in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of one year experience in food and beverage service preferred
  • Ability to warmly greet and seat guests
  • Attention to detail in managing seating charts and wait-lists
  • Effective communication with team members
  • Availability for a minimum of three shifts per week
  • Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in casual or fine-dining settings preferred
  • Experience in hotel or resort food and beverage service is a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Positive and caring attitude towards guests
  • Self-driven and motivated to achieve goals
  • Ability to physically perform restaurant duties including carrying trays and cleaning

Job Duties

  • Greeting guests warmly upon arrival
  • Managing table seating arrangements
  • Maintaining guest wait-lists during busy periods
  • Communicating with service staff about table status
  • Presenting menus and informing guests of specials
  • Assisting with general restaurant cleanliness and organization
  • Utilizing paging devices to notify guests when tables are ready
