Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in food and beverage front-of-house operations preferred
- Ability to use point-of-sale and telephone systems
- Must be able to read and understand simple written instructions and correspondence
- Ability to communicate clearly and politely with guests and team members
- Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- General food and beverage knowledge involving at least 1 year of front-of-the-house operations preferred
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale and phone system
- Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Bi-lingual skills preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly manner escorting them to the assigned dining area
- Rotate tables when seating guests throughout the shift
- Call out name and number of party when tables become available in a courteous and friendly manner with a pleasant, professional, and clear tone of voice
- Upon seating, present menus and announce server's name
- Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow associates including servers, bussers, co-host/hostess, and management as situations arise
- Answer telephone with the proper Kalahari Resort verbiage
