Job Qualifications
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language of the work location and of the guests
- must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations and complete computer data entry
- must have a valid Food Handler's Card
- must have a valid Alcohol Server Permit if required by state regulations for serving or cashiering
- positive interpersonal skills
- able to meet the shift's needs of fluctuating business demands
- knowledge of the sequence of service and dining room procedures
- guest sensitive and possess a sense of timing to seat guests promptly
- ability to make quality decisions with supervisory assistance
- able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Job Duties
- Greets guests in a warm and welcoming manner
- opens door for guests arriving and departing whenever possible
- welcomes guest to Elmer's and determines if guest is first time visitor
- informs manager and server of any first time guests
- accommodates any special needs of guests such as boosters, high chairs, disabilities
- manages the wait list when the restaurant is full
- provides guests assistance to servers as needed
- process guest payments
- maintains cleanliness of lobby, waiting area, cashier stand, and restrooms
- may serve as busser including maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of front-of-the-house, restocking tables, removing dirty dishes, utensils and glasses to bus cart area, refilling coffees and waters for guests, picking up trash and debris in parking lot and sidewalk areas, completing side work and extra projects as assigned
