Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
Must be able to stand and move for extended periods
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
Basic knowledge of POS systems is a plus
Friendly attitude with excellent interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

No previous restaurant experience required
A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to warmly welcome our guests
Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)

Job Duties

Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival
When possible, open the front door for guests entering and leaving the restaurant
When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in the party
Provide guests with estimated waiting times
Call out name and number of party when tables become available
Seat guests based on guest preferences whenever possible and consider the balancing of customer flow in the service stations
Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name
Inspect the table for proper presentation and completeness
Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed
Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
Maintain a clean and organized hostess station
Ensure the front of restaurant (entrance hallway / doors) are clear of trash, swept and windows are clean
Check bathrooms for cleanliness and paper supplies every two hours during the day and every hour from 5:00 pm - close
Utilize POS system to ensure accurate sales data and Hot Schedules application for scheduling and communication amongst the restaurant team
Read all messages sent from Management via Hot Schedules before coming in for each shift
