Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid form of identification
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • may require food handler's certification depending on local regulations
  • must be able to stand, walk, reach, handle objects, talk, hear, taste, and smell regularly
  • must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • must have sufficient vision including depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • basic math skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate discounts and tips
  • ability to use common sense to carry out written and oral instructions
  • must be able to creatively solve problems using experience and an outside-the-box mindset
  • willingness to maintain professional interpersonal behavior and teamwork
  • must follow policies and procedures and take accountability for work

Job Qualifications

  • Guest service experience in hospitality industry is preferred
  • excellent customer service skills with a polite and attentive demeanor
  • strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • basic understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of restaurant POS systems including Toast, Restaurant365, and OpenTable
  • basic knowledge of English with ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to provide and receive constructive feedback respectfully
  • emotional intelligence with ability to remain calm and work effectively under stress

Job Duties

  • Ensure dress code policy is followed consistently
  • interact with guests and create reservations
  • assess guest needs and requirements for an unforgettable experience
  • inform manager and servers/bartenders of guest special occasions
  • keep host stand clean and organized
  • ensure menus are clean and ready for service
  • perform daily and weekly cleaning duties including periodic bathroom checks
  • rotate seating between different sections to ensure even workloads for servers
