Job Requirements
- Must have a valid form of identification
- flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- may require food handler's certification depending on local regulations
- must be able to stand, walk, reach, handle objects, talk, hear, taste, and smell regularly
- must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- must have sufficient vision including depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- basic math skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate discounts and tips
- ability to use common sense to carry out written and oral instructions
- must be able to creatively solve problems using experience and an outside-the-box mindset
- willingness to maintain professional interpersonal behavior and teamwork
- must follow policies and procedures and take accountability for work
Job Qualifications
- Guest service experience in hospitality industry is preferred
- excellent customer service skills with a polite and attentive demeanor
- strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- basic understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards
- ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- knowledge of restaurant POS systems including Toast, Restaurant365, and OpenTable
- basic knowledge of English with ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- ability to provide and receive constructive feedback respectfully
- emotional intelligence with ability to remain calm and work effectively under stress
Job Duties
- Ensure dress code policy is followed consistently
- interact with guests and create reservations
- assess guest needs and requirements for an unforgettable experience
- inform manager and servers/bartenders of guest special occasions
- keep host stand clean and organized
- ensure menus are clean and ready for service
- perform daily and weekly cleaning duties including periodic bathroom checks
- rotate seating between different sections to ensure even workloads for servers
