Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods and manage a fast-paced environment
  • basic proficiency with reservation and point-of-sale systems
  • experience working as a host or in a similar front-of-house position in the hospitality industry
  • familiarity with multiple reservation management software platforms
  • strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • knowledge of local dining trends and customer service best practices

Job Duties

  • Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival, providing a warm and professional welcome
  • manage reservations and walk-in guest seating to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times
  • maintain an organized waitlist and communicate estimated wait times clearly to guests
  • coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless service flow
  • answer phone calls to handle reservations, inquiries, and special requests efficiently
  • monitor the dining area to anticipate guest needs and address any concerns proactively
  • assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up the host station and maintaining cleanliness
