Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid form of identification
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to calculate discounts and tips
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • Ability to learn and utilize Toast Point-of-Sale, Restaurant365 systems and OpenTable
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May require food handler's certification depending on local regulations
  • Ability to use common sense to understand and carry out instructions
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, handle objects, talk, hear, taste and smell
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, climb stairs and maintain balance occasionally
  • Must possess close, distance, and peripheral vision with depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must have physical mobility to respond quickly to emergencies
  • Personal accountability to follow policies, report to work as scheduled, take responsibility for actions, and complete work timely
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and effective teamwork
  • Ability to engage employees and give and receive constructive feedback respectfully
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and remain calm under stress

Job Qualifications

  • Guest service experience in hospitality industry is preferred
  • Basic understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Excellent customer service skills with a polite and attentive demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Basic knowledge of English preferred
  • Ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written directives
  • Knowledge and understanding of government policies and regulations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Ability to creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Ensure dress code policy is followed consistently
  • Interact with guests and create reservations
  • Assess guest needs and requirements for an unforgettable experience
  • Inform manager and servers or bartenders of guest special occasions
  • Keep host stand clean and organized
  • Ensure menus are clean and ready for service
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties as well as periodic bathroom checks
  • Rotate seating between different sections to ensure even workloads for servers
