Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the restaurant for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 20 pounds
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Basic computer skills for reservation system use

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with a positive attitude
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Familiarity with reservation systems or software is a plus
  • Previous host/hostess experience preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests with a friendly and positive attitude as they arrive
  • Manage waitlist and reservations, estimate wait times and comfort guests
  • Escort guests to tables, present menus, provide assistance
  • Seat guests according to seating charts and server rotation to optimize table turnover
  • Take and confirm reservations over phone and system, maintain up-to-date reservation book
  • Communicate special requests and guest preferences to servers and kitchen staff
  • Provide guests with information about menu items, daily specials, promotions
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, special requests with professionalism
  • Maintain communication with servers, bussers, kitchen staff to ensure efficient seating and service
  • Keep host stand and waiting area clean, organized, and well-stocked
