  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Experience working as a host or in food and beverage environment highly desirable

  • Basic mathematics skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
  • Able to develop cooperative working relationships with others
  • Able to stand for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival
  • Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible
  • Record guest names and number of people in party when immediate seating is limited
  • Call out the name and number of the party when tables become available
  • Provide guests with estimated waiting time
  • Accommodate special seating requests whenever possible
  • Seat guests based on preferences and balancing customer flow in service stations
  • Offer guests a menu and inform them of their server's name upon seating
  • Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness
  • Keep accurate guest count to ensure efficient seating rotation
  • Relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
