Job Requirements
- High school education diploma or equivalent
- Availability to work from the third week in August through the first week of May
- Ability to work onsite at the Ann Arbor campus
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to handle cash and operate card-reading equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage guest conflicts calmly and professionally
- Physical ability to perform table bussing tasks
- Dependability and punctuality

Job Duties
- Talk with guests
- Provide guests with information about dining services
- Accept payment for individual meals
- Carefully check ID card photos to be sure the guest presenting matches the photo on the card
- Swipe ID cards to confirm that guests have an active meal plan and are eligible to enter the dining hall
- Prevent ineligible individuals from entering the dining halls
- Handle upset guests and challenge guests who are ineligible to enter the dining room while remaining calm
- Call for management to process credit card transaction
- Report suspicious behavior to management
- Operate card-reading equipment
- Remove dirty dishes and trash from the dining room tables and return them to the dish room
- Sweep and spot mop floors during and after service
- Refill napkin holders, salt, and pepper shakers
- Place and remove table talkers
- Clean and straighten chairs
- Perform other tasks related to maintaining a clean environment
